The Staff & The Training
If you have already visited the home you may have met some of our friendly staff. The matron and registered manager, Ann Wilson, who has been with us for over fourteen years, is a full trained nurse who is in charge of the home and all of our staff. Ann will want to welcome you and talk to you about your condition, you medical nursing and dietary needs, and get to know all about you. Later she will show you round the home, introduce you to the other staff, show you your room and perhaps take you to meet some other residents.
If Ann is not on duty, on of our trained staff will welcome you.
There is a trained nurse on duty each day and night. They are aided by up to seven nursing assistants throughout the day and three at night.
Matron will write an individual care plan, known as a service user plan, for you. This will be done following consultation with you, and with help from you and your family if you so wish, so that all staff know how best to treat you; you and your family are welcome to see this at any time, and will be regularly updated.
the catering staff comprises of the cook and his assistant who can cater for all types of diets and special requirements; he can visit you to discuss the menu and you various likes and dislikes. Breakfast can be taken at any time an either in you room or in one of our two dinning rooms. Lunch is served at noon and tea at 4.30 pm and is usually served in the dinning rooms; however some people do prefer to eat in their rooms.
Hot and Cold snacks are served at regular intervals throughout the day and extra drinks/ snacks for you or your visitors can be supplied upon request.
There are also a dedicated team of laundry and domestic staff who can clean the home and launder all clothing in the home each day.
Training
All members of the team undergo constant NVQ training to ensure the smooth running of the Home.
